Frequently asked
Does the SCADA PC need the internet?
Not to run. PlantProof runs on your own network, and the licence key is checked on the PC itself. For a PC that never reaches the internet, use the offline kit so setup needs no downloads. Buying, downloading and entering the key can all happen from any PC, and the key can be carried to an isolated network on a USB stick.
What happens after the 30-day evaluation?
Without a key, PlantProof keeps running and collecting data on up to 3 PLCs. Nothing is deleted. Enter a Pilot or Site key any time to lift the limit.
What's the difference between Pilot and Site?
Both include every module. Pilot polls up to 3 PLCs at the same time; Site polls any number of PLCs at one site. The built-in simulator never counts.
Is it a subscription?
No. Both editions are a one-time purchase that keeps running forever. The first 12 months of support and updates are included; after that, an optional yearly renewal keeps you on the newest version.
Which PLCs and systems does it support?
Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix (EtherNet/IP), Siemens S7-300/400/1200/1500, Mitsubishi iQ-R, iQ-F, Q and L (MC protocol), AutomationDirect CLICK and any Modbus TCP device, any OPC UA server, and legacy OPC DA servers on Windows.
How do I renew support and updates?
Use the renewal button for your edition and enter your licence ID (it starts with PP-, and PlantProof shows it under user menu > Licence). The thank-you page then shows your renewed key.
