License agreement

DEPTHFORGE END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
Developed by Syon Automation

Please read this agreement before installing DepthForge. By installing, copying or using DepthForge ("the Software"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. LICENSE GRANT
Syon Automation grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on the number of computers covered by your purchase (2 computers for a standard license, 5 for a business license). Trial or evaluation copies may be used only for evaluation during the trial period.

2. UPDATES
Your purchase includes updates released during the first 12 months. After that, the Software keeps working; newer versions may require an optional update renewal.

3. RESTRICTIONS
You may not: (a) rent, lease, resell or sublicense the Software; (b) share license keys beyond the computers covered by your license; (c) remove copyright notices or the "Developed by Syon Automation" credit; or (d) reverse engineer the Software except where the law expressly allows it. Files you create with the Software (depth maps, SVG, DXF, BMP and settings sheets) are yours to use, including commercially.

4. LASER SAFETY AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
The Software prepares files and suggested settings for laser engraving. It never starts a laser job. Suggested settings are starting points only; results depend on your laser, lens, material and setup. You are responsible for checking every job, framing it, running test pieces, following your laser manufacturer's safety instructions, wearing proper eye protection, using ventilation, and never leaving a running laser unattended. The "Send to" features place files and settings in your laser software; you must review them before you run any job.

5. THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE AND TRADEMARKS
The Software can work with LightBurn, EZCAD and MeerK40t. Those names and products belong to their owners (LightBurn Software, Beijing JCZ Technology, and the MeerK40t project). DepthForge is not made, certified or endorsed by them, and you need your own valid license for any third-party software you use with it. The Software includes open-source components under their own licenses, listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt, including the Depth Anything V2 Small model (Apache-2.0).

6. PRIVACY
The Software runs on your computer. Images you open and the AI depth estimation stay on your computer and are not uploaded by the Software.

7. NO WARRANTY
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SYON AUTOMATION DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT ITS SETTINGS WILL SUIT YOUR MACHINE OR MATERIAL.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SYON AUTOMATION IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR DAMAGE TO MACHINES, MATERIALS, WORKPIECES OR PROPERTY, LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM USE OF THE SOFTWARE. SYON AUTOMATION'S TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE.

9. TERMINATION
This license ends automatically if you break these terms. When it ends, you must uninstall and stop using the Software.

10. GOVERNING LAW
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
